Gearing up support for international women’s tennis

SINGAPORE, 14 October 2016 – Porsche renewed and increased its commitment as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2016 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global for the second consecutive year with an impressive presentation of 40 Porsche event vehicles, following the success of the inaugural partnership last year.

This year, Porsche introduces the new Cayenne Platinum Edition in conjunction with the third in- stallation of the WTA Finals in Singapore. This special edition Cayenne is an eye-catching display of power, speed, precision, and control – traits that truly represent the essence of women’s ten- nis. The top eight women’s singles players and doubles teams coming to Singapore for the WTA Finals, along with games officials, will be chauffeured in either the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition or Porsche Macan – which combine to make up the fleet. The fleet of Porsches changed hands in an exclusive handover ceremony attended by Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Por- sche Asia Pacific, Henrik Dreier, General Manager – Porsche Singapore, Francis Lee, Managing Director of Stuttgart Auto, Sarah Clements, Vice President – Tennis (Asia), Lagardère Sports and Melissa Pine, Vice-President of WTA Asia-Pacific and Tournament Director of the WTA Finals.

About the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global

The BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global is the crown jewel of the WTA season, where the world’s best female singles players and doubles teams compete to be the best of the best. Player qualifications to the tournament will be determined by the Road to Singa- pore Leaderboard, based on ranking points accumulated this year. The top eight singles players and doubles teams will qualify to compete for the prestigious Billie Jean King Trophy and the WTA Finals Martina Navratilova Doubles Trophy respectively.

The tournament takes place in Singapore from October 23 to 30, 2016, and is held at the state- of-the-art Singapore Sports Hub, in the 11,500-seat Singapore Indoor Stadium. Together with a fan-friendly program of activities and entertainment that starts on October 21, the 10-day festival has come to be one of the most anticipated events in Singapore.
