Celebrating 30 Years Of Passion And Giving Back To Society

Corporate Social Responsibility

Even as the Group celebrates its success in doing business, we also believe in giving back to society. In addition to his keen business sense, Mr. Karsono Kwee is also a philanthropist. He espouses values such as nurturing relationships and investing in the community. The group has made significant contributions to various charities since the 1990’s and its corporate citizenship initiatives aim to benefit children.

The beneficiaries include the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, The Red Cross Society, Children’s Charity Association, MILK Fund and the President’s Challenge. Other contributions include sponsoring a van for The Red Cross in 2002 and a co-donation with the Rotary Club of a Toyota Hi-Ace Turbo Commuter van to the Tan Tock Seng Patient Care Centre in 2007. The van considerably improved the type of service the Centre can provide in shuttling patients, obtaining needed supplies and other essential activities.

The Group pledges to continue this tradition of corporate social responsibility and to contribute where possible, whether through effort, finance or sponsorship.

Celebrating 30 Years Of Passion And Giving Back To Society

As part of Mr. Karsono Kwee and Porsche's continuous bid to fulfil the tenets of corporate social responsibility, a series of three charitable contributions were made during the evening's celebrations.

Firstly, proceeds from the eBay auction of a 2014 Porsche 919 Hybrid replica, provided by Porsche Asia Pacific, were donated in the form of a US$106,100 (S$145,310) cheque to the charity organisation Singapore SportCares. Team SportCares links up those in need with passionate volunteers and community-spirited donors through sports programmes and life-skills workshops.

The second charitable contribution was a cheque for S$100,000 presented to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, a charity driven by a mission to reach out to every child in need and provide them with the resources to do well in school and beyond.

Finally, the third and largest of the evening's contributions went to the West Coast Citizens' Consultative Committee (CCC), where Mr. Karsono Kwee has been serving as a Patron for more than five years. These three charitable contributions will certainly go a long way in helping the three organisations fulfil their missions and continue the good work they do in society.
