PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia is Ready to Develop an Assembly Centre for Mazda Brand Vehicle in Indonesia

PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), the distributor for the Mazda brand in Indonesia, has finally announced a significant step for the development of an assembly centre for Mazda brand vehicle in Indonesia. The opening of a new facility signifies a new chapter in the partnership between Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) and EMI. This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact on Indonesia’s automotive industry and economy. The establishment of this facility is a testament to the commitment of both companies (MC and EMI), to domestic growth and innovation.

The facility is planned to be in West Java. EMI estimates that the compact crossover will be the main segment category produced in this facility, considering that this segment category is the most favored by Indonesian consumers.

Regarding the plan to build the facility, Ricky Thio said, “We are privileged to have earned the trust of Mazda Motor Corporation for the endeavour to establish an assembly centre for Mazda brand vehicle in Indonesia. The development of this facility will be a significant milestone for us in better catering to the demands of Mazda customers in Indonesia with greater efficiency and effectiveness. We aspire to maintain the quality standard of Mazda vehicles assembled domestically for Indonesian customers, on par with those that are fully assembled in Japan (Completely Built Up).”

The background for establishing the facility in Indonesia is based on MC’s careful and strategic understanding of the great potential of the Indonesian automotive market. In addition, investment support from EMI, which is estimated to have allocated around RP 400 billion for the overall project preparation, also marks EMI’s determination to become a reliable extension of MC, especially in EMI’s efforts to become a key player in driving the growth of the automotive industry and economy in Indonesia.

“Empowering the local community is at the forefront of our priorities, as we plan the development of our assembly centre in Indonesia, especially in the West Java region. Therefore, we are committed to creating more job opportunities and boosting the local economy, to help the community thrive,” added Ricky Thio.
