Eurokars Group Indonesia Consolidates and Expands its Operations with New HQ

JAKARTA, 14 June 2017 – Since its establishment in 1985, Eurokars Group has been committed to driving and developing the automotive market of Indonesia by offering all discerning customers a range of premium car brands that anticipate and satisfy their needs and aspirations.

As the largest privately-owned car distributorship in Singapore, Eurokars Group manages five iconic marques – Porsche, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, MINI, Mazda and McLaren. In Indonesia, the group represents Porsche, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, BMW, Mazda, Maserati, and 3M Automotive and Commercial Film products for the whole of Indonesia. Within the region, the group has a stake in a Rolls-Royce dealership in Nanning, China, and owns a Mazda dealership in Perth.

Now in its third decade of operations, Eurokars Group has deepened its roots and strengthened its commitment towards the Indonesian market, which it entered in 2001, with a new headquarters which marks the centralisation of its core functions and businesses, and exemplifies the significant growth potential of all the brands that it represents.

Located at Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda No. 51, Arteri Pondok Indah, the new Eurokars Group Indonesia Headquarters and Porsche Centre Jakarta facility spans six floors on a 4,088 square metre (sqm) site which yields a total Gross Floor Area of 14,869 sqm. It is conveniently situated within close proximity of the Gandaria City Mall, and along the well-trodden automotive belt in Southern Jakarta.

“Today’s Grand Opening of our new Eurokars Group Indonesia Headquarters and Porsche Centre Jakarta marks a major milestone for Eurokars Group. It is the realisation of our vision to anchor ourselves firmly in the automotive industry here, and in the hearts and minds of car owners and enthusiasts in Indonesia. This substantial investment on our part reflects Eurokars Group’s steadfast commitment towards the development of the dynamic automotive sector in Indonesia – the largest economy in Southeast Asia. According to the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), the total car sales in Indonesia topped the entire ASEAN region in 2016, and car sales in this country are expected to reach 1.1 million units this year, up 3.5 per cent from 2016,” says Mr Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Eurokars Group.

“Our new Eurokars Group Indonesia Headquarters and Porsche Centre Jakarta is well-appointed in a prime location amid other luxury automotive brands, and nestled within the popular automotive belt of Southern Jakarta. Our main objective of establishing an integrated nexus for Eurokars Group in Indonesia is to consolidate all of Eurokars Group’s core functions which are supporting our different brand operations under one roof to achieve even higher levels of efficiency and productivity, as well as enhanced internal communications. The close interface and interconnections among our brand operations in a single and contiguous space will promote greater internal cohesiveness, and spur business growth and expansion across the group as a whole,” he adds.

The new facility is occupying the original site of the inaugural Eurokars Group Indonesia HQ and Porsche Centre Jakarta which was then a three-storey building. The redevelopment process, which took three years to complete, entailed the extension of the overall land size and floor area.

This one-stop HQ now houses the Eurokars Group Indonesia Head Office which comprises the core functions of all the brands that are being represented by the group. Porsche Centre Jakarta consists of showrooms; sales and after sales services and operations, and offices from level one to three of the building. The Eurokars Group Indonesia Head Office is also located at level three. The fourth storey is dedicated to the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars service centre and main office, while the fifth floor houses the Head Office of PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia, the distributor of Mazda vehicles in Indonesia. The highest level is a rooftop carpark for the occupants of the building. The two other brands which are represented by Eurokars Group in Indonesia, namely BMW and Maserati, will continue to operate from their existing premises.

The new Eurokars Group Indonesia Headquarters and Porsche Centre Jakarta is the latest in a series of capital investments that Eurokars Group has made in both Indonesia and Singapore to continue to drive operational efficiency and productivity, and improve its service quality while meeting the anticipated spike in demand for vehicles from the burgeoning urban populations.

The Grand Opening of this new facility comes on the heels of the Ground-breaking Ceremony of the new Eurokars Group Corporate Headquarters at Kung Chong Road in Singapore which took place on 17 May 2017. Targeted for completion by end 2019, the future Eurokars Group Corporate Headquarters in Singapore will be sized at 3,716 sqm with a total built-up area of 9,290 sqm.

And in 2018, Eurokars Group will launch a new S$60 million and 40,692 sqm facility in Tanjong Penjuru in the Western part of Singapore which will house its after-sales operations and serve as a one-stop hub for repairs and maintenance, pre-delivery inspection, body repair and spray painting, as well as warehousing of all the brands under the group.

“Eurokars Group will continue to leverage our investments in high quality infrastructure and cutting-edge innovations to propel growth within our organisation and at the industry level. Through this, we will be able to increase our capacity and cater to more customers; create a strong distribution base with a premium placed on best-in-class customer service and strong after sales support, and at the same time, expand our product offerings, and strengthen our collaborative relationships with our principals, partners and suppliers,” says Mr Kwee.
